The Impact of Race on State Preemption Laws

OnLabor, a blog authored by two Harvard Law professors, recently dug into the minimum wage preemption battle that is ongoing between the City of Birmingham and the State of Alabama.

Of particular note about this preemption issue is that over 70% of the individuals that would have benefited from a higher minimum wage are African-American.
